Error codes

Every error has the same shape. Branch on code, which never changes; the message may be reworded.

All error codes
Code	HTTP	Meaning
UNAUTHENTICATED	401	Missing or malformed API key. Send it as `Authorization: Bearer bz_live_sk_…`.
KEY_REVOKED	401	The key was revoked. Create a new key in the dashboard.
IP_NOT_ALLOWED	403	The key is locked to other IP addresses.
SCOPE_MISSING	403	The key is not allowed to do that.
RATE_LIMITED	429	Too many requests — wait for `Retry-After` seconds.
RESTAURANT_UNAVAILABLE	403	The restaurant cannot take orders or bookings (subscription or account).
ORDERING_OFF	403	Online ordering is switched off.
CLOSED	409	The restaurant is closed now. `opensAt` says when it opens.
NOT_ACCEPTING	409	No staff device is online to take the order.
ORDER_TYPE_NOT_ALLOWED	422	Pickup or delivery is not enabled.
OUT_OF_AREA	422	The pincode is outside the delivery area.
BELOW_MINIMUM	422	Below the minimum order amount (`minimum` in the error).
ITEM_NOT_FOUND	422	A menu item does not exist (or belongs to another restaurant).
ITEM_UNAVAILABLE	422	A menu item or add-on is sold out / switched off.
ADDON_INVALID	422	Wrong add-on for the item, a duplicate, or above the group maximum.
PRICE_CHANGED	409	The total changed since the quote — the new quote is in the error.
PAYMENT_MODE_NOT_ALLOWED	422	That payment mode is not allowed for this order type / restaurant.
IDEMPOTENCY_KEY_REQUIRED	400	Send an `Idempotency-Key` header with every create.
IDEMPOTENCY_KEY_REUSED	422	The same Idempotency-Key was used with a different body.
IDEMPOTENCY_IN_PROGRESS	409	The first request with this Idempotency-Key is still running. Retry the same request in a second or two.
API_VERSION_UNKNOWN	400	The `Billzova-Version` header names a version that does not exist. Leave it out to use your key’s version.
CANNOT_CANCEL	409	Too late to cancel.
BOOKINGS_OFF	403	Table booking is switched off.
SLOT_UNAVAILABLE	409	That time is not available — `available` lists the free times.
PARTY_TOO_LARGE	422	More guests than an online booking allows.
PAYLOAD_TOO_LARGE	413	The request body is larger than 100 kb. Carts and bookings are far smaller — check you are not sending files or base64 images.
VALIDATION_FAILED	422	The body is invalid — `field` says where.
NOT_FOUND	404	Not found (or not visible to this key).
INTERNAL	500	Our side. Logged with the `requestId` — retry later or contact support.
