- The

- Never send the full API key. The first 12 characters (
bz_live_sk_A…) are enough for us to find it.
Report a security issue
Found a vulnerability? Email info@billzova.com with SECURITY in the subject. Tell us how to reproduce it. Please do not test against restaurants' live data or publish details before we fix it.
Think a key leaked? Revoke it right away in the dashboard under Settings → Developers. Revoking takes effect within 30 seconds.
Common questions
How much does the API cost?
No commission on orders, ever. The API comes with the restaurant's Billzova plan.
Where do I get an API key?
The restaurant owner creates keys in the Billzova dashboard under Settings → Developers. A key is shown once. If it is lost, revoke it and create a new one.
Can I call the API from the browser?
No. Secret keys (bz_live_sk_…) belong on your server only. Anyone who sees a secret key can place orders as the restaurant. Keep it in an environment variable and call the API from your backend.
How do I test without disturbing the kitchen?
Use a test key (bz_test_sk_…). Test orders and bookings behave like real ones but never reach the POS, the printer or the reports. See Testing.
An order was placed but the restaurant did not see it
Check GET /v1/restaurant: ordering.acceptingNow is false when no staff device is online, and the API refuses orders then (NOT_ACCEPTING). If it was true, send us the requestId.
Why was an order cancelled by itself?
If the restaurant does not accept an order within its time limit (15 minutes by default), it is cancelled so the customer is not left waiting. Its status then reads CANCELLED. An order the restaurant turned down reads REJECTED instead.
